Offenders broke into a garage in Porter Avenue, Horseshoe Bend on Saturday night and stole tools, a motorcycle helmet and attacked a Harley Davidson motorcycle with a hammer. Malicious damage
An offender damaged a parked Toyota Hilux ute in Thomas Street, Telarah between 5 and 9pm on Saturday. The miscreant smashed the windscreen, scratched the paint work and broke off a side mirror. Again police would like to hear from any person with information.
Retail thefts
The have been a number of thefts from retails stores in the Maitland area lately. Police have been posting CCTV images of people who may be able to help with investigations on the Central Hunter Police Facebook page. On most occasions the person has been identified by the public via Crime Stoppers within 48 hours. An example was a 22-year-old male whose image was published. He was identified by the public and later had legal action taken against him for stealing.
Phone found
A Samsung Galaxy mobile phone was found at the intersection of the New England Highway and Chisholm Drive, Ashtonfield on Saturday morning. The phone, which is black and white, was handed to police and is now on hand at Maitland Station. Unlicensed possession of firearm
Police attended a Rutherford address on Thursday and took possession of an unregistered air rifle from a 50-year-old male who did not possess a shooters licence. It is also alleged the man left the rifle unsecured in a laundry. The man will now be attending Maitland Court.
