The three teams all had comfortable wins to establish a three-point lead over Raworth Rabbitohs and Regal Hunter Tigers.
The Pythons’ first XI are unbeaten in their three games to date with wins against Paterson and Port’s second XI.
They defeated Bowthorne by 123 runs on Saturday. Jarrod Moxey top scored with 53 as the Pythons had meaningful contributions from virtually all their batsman as they posted 7/207 from their 40 overs.
Scott Boyd had the best figures for Bowthorne finishing with 3-54.
Bowthorne were dismissed for 84, with Brad Duncan making 37.
Port shared the wickets around with Allan Baldwin claiming 3-19.
Paterson fast bowlers Rigby Vane-Wood and Dean Bridges tore through SMR's top order to set up a comfortable win on Saturday.
Vane-Wood and Bridges had SMR reeling at 4-32. Bridges finished with 2-1 off eight overs, including seven maidens.
SMR’s captain Justin Dalley (29) and Jordan Willard (15) offered some resistance to combine to lift the score to 54.
Rodney Faulkner ended their partnership capturing both batsman in a devastating spell of 3-5 of three overs to take the bowling honours for the day.
Vane-Wood finished with 3-19 and Paterson captain Russell Presland 1-17 as SMR manged 77 in 28.2 overs.
David Puxty and Chris Merchant made sure of the win finishing unbeaten on 30 and 20 respectively as Paterson reached their target in just 15 overs with eight wickets to spare.
Brendon Sinclair had an outstanding game topping the batting and bowling for Port Stephens second XI in their six-wicket win against Seaham.
Seaham were all out for 90, with Robert Bartlett making 33. Sinclair claimed 3-12 and Liam Eveleigh (2-18) and Luke Davies 2-33 both got two wickets.
Port wasted not time reaching their target. Sinclair’s 41 came off 31 balls and Shawn Davies was unbeaten on 20, including three sixes, off just five balls.
Andrew Nisbit (4-31) and Luke Alcorn (4-14) both claimed four wickets as Raworth dismissed Lochinvar for 89 off 28 overs.
Christopher Rose compiled 47 off just 29 balls as Raworth posted 5/91 in reply off 19 overs. Jamie Wells (2-26) and Stephen Bargwanna (2-18) picked up two wickets each for Lochinvar.
Regal Hunter beat Lakeside Village by 31 runs after posting 8/164 led by Danny Edwards (47) and Matthew Trowbridge (44). Leigh Peters made 66 of Lakeside’s total of 133.
