City, led by an outstanding unbeaten 92 by Isaac Barry, set Easts an imposing target of 6/206 on day one of their two-day encounter.
Barry hit 10 fours and a six in his innings and was well supported by Jordan Murphy who was run out for 45 and Jock Vivers who made 21.
Easts made two run outs and shared the remainder of the wickets around.
The young Griffins have a talented batting line-up led by first grade all-round Matt Lynch who made 126 in round two against Northern Suburbs and Lachlan Ballard who has yet to be dismissed this season with efforts of 101 and 51 not out.
There’ll be plenty of excitement in the City United ranks with Solomon Pillidge to start his bowling stint on a hat-trick after capturing two wickets with his final two balls against Norths four weeks ago
Play wasn’t possible on the first day of the match between Northern Suburbs and Kurri Weston at Lorn Park last week and it will resume on Saturday as a one-day game.
Raymond Terrace have the bye.
In individual performances of note last weekend, Raymond Terrace under-14 openers Jack Dodd and Ryan Vanderburg were unbeaten of 52 and 30 respectively as the young Lions posted 0/115 to beat Kurri Weston Blue (2/77).
Thornton Park under-12 Dylan Curry had a game to remember taking 5/3 in his team’s five-wicket win against Gresford.
