The come and try date is aimed at introducing new comers to the sport and part of plans to establish a stand-alone girls competition.
“No experience is necessary, the only requirement is that you’re keen to have a hit and bowl and have plenty of fun,” the association’s Glen Findley said.
Friday’s session will be held at Mt Pleasant Street fields (behind Maitland Hospital) from 4.30pm.
“We are still chasing a few numbers to start a competition and we would love all interested girls to either get down there on Friday or contact us so you don’t miss out,” Findlay said.
Maitland hosted the NSW Primary School Girls Championship over the past week, with Maitland girls Emily Latter and Samantha Tobin representing the Hunter.
Girls interested in joining a team or attending one of the come and try days planned can contact Jaclyn Vickery on 0432 161 377.
