And, if the boutique beer festival’s 11th installment at the weekend is anything to go by, it is showing no sign of slowing down.
A little bit of rain couldn’t keep people away – with most ticket-holders for Saturday’s sold out event turning up.
On Sunday, almost 1800 people rolled into the gaol for the final day of Bitter & Twisted fun – a result which pleased organisers.
“We’ve had a really strong turn out despite the cloudy overhead conditions,” Maitland City Council events coordinator Adam Franks said.
“I think people definitely were spoilt for choice in terms of the craft beers.
“We’ve had a number of comments back about the range.”
People still turned out, and still had a really good time, and behaved themselves and enjoyed the event as well.

But it wasn’t just the taste festival-goers were impressed with.
They were also able to catch up with the brewers who brought the flavours to life.
Mr Franks said some of the brewers who had been involved for a long time were impressed with improvements.
“We had some feedback that they really enjoyed a bit of a change of venue and format for the meet the brewer sessions, which has been a really positive change as well,” he said.
“We kicked off our beer and cheese matching tours.
“They’ve been extremely popular with all the sessions they’ve been doing.”
The food, drinks, and music were all a success.
But, Mr Franks was very impressed with the public’s performance.
“Overall, we’ve had a really well-behaved crowd in general over the weekend, which is fantastic to see,” he said.
“The rain didn’t really hold anyone off.
“We’ve actually been really fortunate that people still turned out, and still had a really good time and behaved themselves and enjoyed the event as well.”
