The Hunters finished on 130 points, just behind the Beresfield Magpies on 130.5.
Kurri Kurri Cannons claimed the minor premiership in emphatic style with a maximum 16-0 win against East Cessnock Comets to finish on 16 points clear of second-placed Raymond Terrace who finished on 160 points.
Soldiers Point finished third on 150 points and Mayfield West were fourth on 133.
East Maitland Griffins fought hard to the end beating Raymond Terrace 9-6 in the final game but finished eighth on 122 points.
