Mahony has scored 257 runs at an average of 128.50 from his three innings for the Plovers. He opened the season with a stunning 134, made 33 not out and rescued Wests’ innings with a patiently crafted 90 in the final round before the break against Raymond Terrace.
Callinan has been a model of consistency taking a wicket in each game this season to go into the break with 16 wickets, three clear of his nearest rivals Terrace paceman Cameron Bates and Norths teammate Lincoln Mills.
Callinan opened the season in style taking 5-29 against Terrace and has five returns of two wickets or more to average 10.94 at a strike rate of 25.38 and economy rate of 2.59.
However, for all-round strike power Mills tops the list. He is second on the batting table with 249 runs at an average of 49.8 with a best score of 118.
He is third in the bowling statistics with 13 wickets at an average of 14.69, with a best returns of 3-37 and 3-40. He has taken two or more wickets in five of the six innings he has bowled in.
Mills’ best figures for the summer were an amazing 6-10 for the Hunter Hitmen against Central Coast in the Regional Bash Twenty20 competition.
Bates has been an integral part of Raymond Terrace’s unbeaten run in the first half of the 2017/18 season.
He is second on the bowling table taking 13 wickets at an average of 12.23 and his strike rate of 22.15 is the best in the top 10. His best return was 6-50 against Wests and his has two bags of three.
Northern Suburbs, who have claimed the only outright win of the season to date, have four bowlers in the top 10.
Singleton recruit Cael Smith is fourth on the table with 12 wickets at an average of 19.08. Teenage pacemen Rex Greaves is eighth with nine wickets at 12.00.
Kurri Weston duo Alex Seamer and Tim Harding are fifth and sixth on the table with 10 wickets each.
Seamer has continued his great form after a break-out debut year with the Warriors in 2016/17 and is averaging 15.6 and a best return of 5-40 against Raymond Terrace.
