Now in its fifth year, the competition is coming to the Hunter Valley as part of the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival.
Created to help support emerging talent, Burlesque Idol is a high-energy and deliciously entertaining evening, jam-packed with talent, humour and audience participation.
From glamorous Vegas-inspired showgirls to comediennes, poets, opera singers, and so much more, it is a unique night of entertainment celebrating all forms of burlesque.
Finalists will be drawn from shows held in major cities across Australia over the next two months.
Nostalgia Festival manager Lesley Morris said the festival is thrilled to partner with Burlesque Idol Australia in 2018.
The partnership came about through festival sponsor, Pearl Davies Media, who is also involved with Burlesque Idol.
Ms Morris said Burlesque Idol will bring something a bit different to the Nostalgia Festival, while fitting the retro theme and the pin-up style of event.
The Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival will run from March 23 to 25, with a range of free entertainment over the weekend, including live rock ‘n’ roll bands, classic cars and hot rod displays, retro market stalls, dance demonstrations and best dressed competitions with great prizes.
