POLICE are investigating after a woman was struck by a taxi in Rutherford this morning.

At about 7.50am, on Monday, emergency services were called to the car park of a shopping centre in West Mall, Rutherford, following reports a woman had been hit by a taxi.
The woman, believed to be aged in her 60s, was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
The 42-year-old female driver of the taxi was taken to Maitland Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Officers from Central Hunter Local Area Command established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
