AFTER an impressive light show on Monday night, Maitland can expect another stormy evening tonight.

The Monday storm brought some relief, dropping the temperature by around 10 degrees.

The mercury is likely to rise during Tuesday, with a maximum temperature of 37 degrees forecast.

However, another storm is predicted this evening, with an 80 per cent chance of rain.

The Bureau of Meteorology predicts a thunderstorm with gusty winds during this afternoon and evening.

Possible showers are forecast for the rest of the week.

Temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will likely be significantly cooler than what Maitland has been dealing with recently.

On Wednesday, Maitland is likely to experience a 70 per cent chance of rain, and a maximum temperature of 27 degrees.

On Thursday, there will be a 60 per cent chance of rain, with a maximum temperature of 28.

While the temperature may rise and fall a little over the coming week, it is not likely to reach the scorching heights experienced at the weekend.
