A woman is in a stable condition a day after being struck by a taxi in a horror incident at Rutherford.

A John Hunter Hospital spokesperson confirmed the woman, aged in her 60s, is in a stable condition after being run over by a taxi at West Mall, Rutherford, on Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 7.50am Monday to treat a woman with injuries consistent with being stuck under a vehicle.
The woman was taken to John Hunter Hospital in critical condition, with injuries believed to include a fractured leg, multiple abrasions and lacerations, as well as rib, spine, pelvic and facial injuries.
The 42-year-old female driver of the taxi was taken to Maitland Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Police said on Tuesday that no charges have been laid relating to the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Maitland Police Station on 4934 0200.
