Wendy started Maitland’s U3A branch in 2012 after a cruise on the Mekong River where she met with other people from U3A groups.
Shortly after she held a public meeting in the Town Hall which was attended by 80 people which saw a steering committee formed, led by Wendy to commence the formation process.
In January 2013 the first courses were offered to the community with 100 members.
The rest, as they say, is history. They start 2018 a membership of over 250 and growing and will have 50 courses and activities to participate in.
U3A regional representative Laureene Mulcany traveled to Maitland to present Wendy with her life membership plaque last week.
