A 29-year-old man was charged with using a telecommunication device to send threats against another person on Sunday. Police allege the man sent threats of violence via Facebook. He has been charged and bailed to Maitland Court.

Thefts from Aberglasslyn
On Sunday night two vehicles were broken into and had property stolen at Aberglasslyn, including a wallet and money. It appears the vehicles may have been left unlocked. Motorists should be aware that thieves actively target property from vehicles. Please remove valuables and lock your car every time. It is best practice to park in a garage, but if it is not possible try to park in well-lit areas.
Noise complaint in Thornton
Police were called to a party in Harrow Street, Thornton in the early hours of Sunday morning. Upon arrival police heard loud music and singing coming from a house. Police deemed the noise to be offensive given the hour of night and issued a noise abatement direction. Fortunately, the noise quietened and police left. Police do have the power to issue monetary fines and even confiscate music systems in some cases to ensure noise stops.
Unlicensed rider drink driving
An 18-year-old was stopped on the New England Highway, Rutherford early on Saturday while allegedly riding an unregistered motorbike. The young man failed a roadside breath test, was arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station where it was found he was driving with more than twice the blood alcohol of a fully licenced rider. He has been charged with mid-range drink driving. The man was also found to be unlicensed.
Found Samsung Galaxy phone
Last Friday, a silver Samsung Galaxy mobile phone was found in South Street, Telarah by a member of the community. Police have been unable to access the phone to locate an owner. If you feel this phone may be yours please contact Maitland Police Station and quote number E67434463
