Concert at Weston Workers Club for Kurri's pit horse statue project

A country music concert will be held at Weston Workers Club on Saturday, February 17 to raise money for Kurri Kurri's Pit Horse Statue Project.

Performers will include Terry Gordon, Greg Bain, Bob Easter, Christina George, Donnie Soper, Amanda Collins, Cass Gascoigne and the Bush Rock Band.

Tickets are $15 and are available at the club on 4937 1101 or at the door on the night. Doors will open at 6.30pm.

The Pit Horse Statue Project was born in 2015 and has since raised more than $34,000 – about one-third of the project’s estimated cost.

The project is designed to honour the legacy of the legendary pit horses that worked in the South Maitland Coalfields.

Inquiries about the project can be directed to Towns With Heart on 4936 1909.

Donations to the project can also be made online at www.gofundme.com/pit-horse-statue.
