A Justin Dalley century and a five-wicket haul to Jaedyn Sullivan helped SMR to three-wicket win in a high-scoring thriller against Seaham in Maitland A-grade cricket on Saturday.

Dalley finished with 110 and shared in a 122-run second wicket partnership with David Seers (67) as SMR reached their target on 7/273 with two balls to spare.
Seaham had compiled a very healthy 9/60 led by Mitchell Freeman with 86, Cameron McLean 56 and Robert Bartlett 40 in Seaham’s 9/260. SMR’s Sullivan prevented a bigger score with 5-19 and Samuel Biddles took 3-43.
The win allowed SMR to replace Regal Hunter Tigers in the top four after the Tigers were skittled by Raworth Rabbitohs for just 78 with Andrew Kelly taking 5-11 and Christopher Rose picking up 2-19 and Jeffrey Lyons 2-27.
Brendan Hourigan top scored with 38 as Raworth took just 10.3 over to post 3/83 for victory.
The Tigers dropped to sixth place on 35 points, with SMR fourth on 38 and Raworth on 37. Bowthorne are seventh on 33 after a 96-run win against Lochinvar.
Openers Steven Webster (87) and Scott Boyd (71) setting up Bowthorne’s big total of 8/257 with No.3 Ryan Stallworthy contributing 49.
Will Bischoff was the chief wicket taker for Lochinvar taking 3-27.
Andrew Ford top scored with 49 as Lochinvar were dismissed for 161 in reply. Brendan Salmon took 3-5 and Michael Meehan 3-41 for Bowthorne.
Paterson claimed second spot and a psychological edge ahead of the finals over A-grade rivals Port Stephens 2nd XI.
In an even team performance, which will please skipper Russell Presland, Paterson dismissed the Pythons for 110 in 34.4 overs and made 4/112 in reply for a six-wicket win.
It was an important win just three rounds ahead of the finals and sets Paterson up for a home semi-final against the same opponent.
Matthew Jones had a terrific game with the ball claiming 3-6 from eight miserly overs, which included four maidens.
Rigby Vane-Wood took 2-24 and Daniel Agland had his first bowl of the season and grabbed 2-14 of 2.4 overs.
Agland made an unbeaten 48 to anchor the innings. It followed his 61 not out last week against Raworth. Ramsey Vane-Wood made 28.
The win gives Paterson a two-point break on the ladder to Port Stephens 2nd XI, who are third on 50. Port’s 1st XI are top of the table with 54 points.
The Pythons 1st XI continued their domination of the competition with a 10-wicket smashing of Lakeside Village Panthers. The Panthers were dismissed for 37 in 18 overs. Port openers Tyran Eveleigh and Adam Butler both finished on 17 not out as they reached the target in 7.2 overs.
