Maitland’s under-16 IDCA team completed the major and minor premiership double with victory against Penrith on Saturday in an amazing debut season in the competition.
The Maitland AGL Second XI collected their third title in a row defeating Upper Hunter at Scone on Sunday.
Maitland posted a competitive 208 off 49.3 overs and took regular wickets to dismiss Upper Hunter for 178 in the 47th over.
The Maitland under-14 IDCA team finished runners-up in another incredible debut year and the under-12s will play off this Sunday for fifth in the 14-team competition.
Maitland’s John Bull Shield side will be back in action this Sunday at Robins Oval in the rescheduled grand final against Singleton.
Maitland dismissed Singleton for 239 in the 43rd over and were 2/113 in reply in the 28th over, when lightning halted play and eventually forced the game to be abandoned.
The senior team will be joined by Maitland’s Hunter Valley under-12 and under-14 representative teams in grand final action on Sunday.
The two junior teams booked their spots in the final with good wins against Singleton on Sunday
The under 12s got up in a close one making 10/128 and restricting Singleton to 10/116.
Will Montgomery 34 and Will Parkinson 19 were the top scorers for Maitland. Rohan Power was best with the ball taking 3-22. He was well supported by Henry Field 2-10 and Darcy Hickey 2-1.
They play Upper Hunter in this Sunday's final in Scone.
The under 14s won in convincing fashion to remain undefeated chasing down Singletons 10-108 in just 27 overs. Daniel Harden 38 and Pat Stewart 31 not out were the main contributors with the bat. Pat Stewart had a day out also claiming 3-3 with the ball, ably supported by Noah Fisher 3-10 and Joshua Wells 2-11.
They also play Upper Hunter in the final in Scone.
Unfortunately, the under-16 Hunter Valley team were not able to complete the trifecta and went down to Singleton on Sunday.
Singleton posted a competitive 9/226 with Dusty Callaghan, Theo Atkins and Drew Mulligan taking two wickets each for Maitland who were bowled out for 106 in reply. The best with the bat were Ryan Wind 30 and Ben Crebert 26.
