Fans were able to get right up close as man and woman pitted their skills in rough-riding and high-paced barrel racing events in an action-packed program.
Rodeo organiser Jenny Tilse said the response from the crowds and competitors was outstanding.
“One of the great things about the rodeo is that it draws some of the top riders in the sport and is a pathway for juniors and novices,” she said.
The professionals showcased their skills and courage in the bull ride, open saddle bronc and bareback riding (horses) and didn’t disappoint the fans.
The ring was no place for the faint-hearted as huge bulls threw the riders about and continued to vent their anger trying to charge thrown riders.
The barrel racing was equally spectacular as horse and rider seemingly blended as one at break-neck speed around the course.
The next generation of rodeo stars showed their skills in the juvenile steer rides.
