Live Life Get Active, is a program that promotes holistic health and well being by offering a range of group fitness activities including boxing and yoga.

Ms Flemming launched the program in partnership with Defence Housing Australia at its Wirraway residential development.

The program is a new opportunity for families living in Wirraway to connect with their community and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

Live Life Get Active will be held at 9.30am each weekday. Participants also gain access to free nutritional plans and can track their progress online.

“Live Life Get Active is a private social initiative that was established to build a fitter, healthier and happier Australia by encouraging participants to get moving and have fun along the way,” Ms Flemming said.

“Importantly, we know that community-based programs like Live Life Get Active also play a vital role in combating social isolation and can significantly boost emotional well being by offering residents more opportunities to interact in a relaxed, friendly environment.” 

DHA Development Manager, Gully Coote, said that the program coincided with the opening of Wirraway Park – a place designed to bring people together in the outdoors. “DHA just launched a $1.6 million community park at Thornton, designed to encourage social inclusion and provide a place where neighbours can get together,” Mr Coote said.

Wirraway is a new community which will accommodate 500 families. Wirraway Park features a fitness station, half-sized basketball court, flying fox and skateboard area.
