Police have seized 16 large cannabis plants - some more than a metre high – after raiding a property at Halton, near East Gresford.
A 65-year-old man was arrested and charged with cultivating a prohibited plant after Port Stephens-Hunter police attended the Allyn River Road property on Thursday.
Maitland police officer in charge Chief Inspector Glenn Blain said three of the plants were found behind a house on the property and another 13 were located in a nearby paddock.
Police seized the plants before taking them to Raymond Terrace police station where they were destroyed.
The 65-year-old man is due to appear in court next month.
