The tournamnent drew 28 pairs of golf croquet players, spread over four divisions, and the competition was red-hot across all the groups.
The competition involved level play matches followed by the handicap play section.
Each team played a total of 12 games, each with a time limit of one hour per game and some teams needed the full hour to achieve a result.
Maitland Croquet Club vice-president Robyn Compton said the event was the first competition in a tournament for some players.
Compton said in contrast the top Group A featured several players who have represented NSW and Australia.
