The dance-rock three-piece will play the Maitland Showground leg of the travelling festival on April 28, easily the biggest gig of their burgeoning career.
Fellow Newcastle band Split Feed has already been announced for Groovin The Moo after winning a slot through triple j Unearthed.
Meanwhile, Raave Tapes side project Skivvy Season will unveil their new expanded line-up on Saturday at Darby Street Live.
Skivvy Season, which features Raave Tapes frontman Joab Eastley and drummer Lewis Horne, will be joined by Shrimp’s Teleah Riordan (bass) and Nathan Buyers (synths) for their first full-band performance.
Eastley launched Skivvy Season to provide a creative outlet for his mellower indie tunes that weren’t suitable for Raave Tapes’ typically boisterous dance rock.
“It’s the softer side of my songwriting getting a chance to have a go,” Eastley said. “Lewis and I have been working on some stuff and it’s songs we couldn’t play with Raave Tapes.”
However, it’ll be a brief reprieve. Raave Tapes are preparing to release their latest single Suds in the coming weeks, which is expected to continue the high-energy and squelchy beats of their popular track k bye.
