They have grown in stature and confidence in front of their proud coaches, parents and grandparents’ eyes and found new friends and skills along the way.
The one constant, however, has been the emphasis on having fun, even on those cold July mornings when tracksuit pants and a jumper were required under their uniform to ward off the cold.
The Mercury caught up with action in the games 7 years lime games between Blossoms and The Unicorns, Sky Gem Comets and Bearettes and Raspberry Lollipops and Sparkling Comets.
The season comes to an end next week for the young players in the Net Set Go through to 9 years programs, with finals from 10 years through to A1 starting on Saturday, September 1.
