Catholic Care Social Services Hunter Manning
In Government & Community Services

CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning is the official agency of the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle. We are a not-for-profit registered charity, and to continue the mission of Christ we offer opportunities for growth, healing, and hope to all people. Our holistic support options are offered to those in need regardless of religion, age, gender, ethnicity, or physical and intellectual disability.

Being responsive to local needs is at the heart of everything we do. We work with people to address issues from an early intervention perspective. Our programs are a combination of fee-for-service and government-funded. The entirety of our support network and ability to cross-refer sets us apart.

Our support services come under three broad areas.

Social Justice — encompassing homeless services including the Taree Community Kitchen, Forster Tuncurry Community Kitchen, the Junction Community Kitchen, and the Hamilton Community Kitchen. Our refugee and asylum seeker services include multi-cultural family support programs.

Mental Health — incorporating psychology and counseling services (adults, child, and family), clinical assessments, Employee Assistance Program, and adoptions counseling.

Child, Youth, and Family Services — including Brighter Futures, Early Intervention Placement Prevention Program, Integrated Family and Domestic Violence Strategy, foster care, restorations, open adoptions, guardianship, relative or kinship care, Supported Independent Living, and aftercare.

CatholicCare staff operates from a trauma-informed perspective. In developing collaborative, open, honest, and transparent relationships with participants in a multidisciplinary environment, we support them to define their goals, identify their strengths, and access resources.
