These three youngsters make a formidable partnership.
Not only are they mates off the field but together they can play a decent game of hockey as well.
Maitland Rams juniors Krishna Nagarajan, Josh Magann and Tom Forbes have all been chosen in the Hunter regional team for the upcoming NSW Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) Championships.
And they all agreed that it was the combinations formed while playing in the same Maitland under 13s squad that helped them on their way.
“There were five of us [from Maitland] in the zone rep team [for schools], which was almost half the side,” Forbes said.
“We know how each other play.”
Nagarajan, Magann and Forbes all grabbed the attention of selectors at trials held at Broadmeadow earlier this month and were given the nod for further honours.
The talented trio will head to Narellan in June for the state tournament.
Nagarajan, 11, is a defender who hails from Bolwarra Public School, 10-year-old half Magann attends East Maitland Public School while Forbes, also a 10-year-old half, goes to Morpeth Public School.
At the Rams they have been coached by top grade player Nathan Baker in the Newcastle under-13 competition.
