The East Maitland Griffins were thumped 42-10 by Belmont Souths at King Edward Park on Sunday.
The 32-point loss was the Griffins’ second this year in the Newcastle and Hunter Rugby League A-grade competition.
They now sit alongside four other teams, including Belmont Souths, in a share of third position on four competition points.
Defending premiers Wallsend Maryland remain unbeaten courtesy of a 56-22 hammering of newly promoted Dora Creek, while Windale dealt Dudley a 26-0 defeat.
West Wallsend had the bye.
In B-grade, Paterson River could only manage to score half the points of their opponents in a 32-16 loss to Morisset at home on Saturday.
Wangi Wangi accounted for freshly demoted Cardiff 30-22 while Fingal Bay was downed 28-22 by Shortland.
Raymond Terrace, dropped from A-grade last week, had the bye.
In C-grade, Abermain proved too strong for Woodberry with a 36-20 win at Howe Park on Sunday, while Scott Fisher celebrated his 300th game for Dungog in style with the Warriors overcoming Hinton 26-10 at Bennett Park on Sunday.
Around the other games, Gateshead snuck past Newcastle University 26-22 while Kotara scored 34 to Stroud’s 22.
And in D-grade, Clarence Town split the points with Williamtown following a 28-all draw at Hexham Oval on Saturday, Thornton Beresfield were downed 48-16 by Carrington at Lindsay Park while West Maitland fell narrowly short of Gloucester (24-22) at Coronation Oval on Sunday.
Swansea beat Karuah 42-16 in the final game of the fourth round.
