The informal open day was a chance for the Telarah community to visit and tour the school, look at some of the new classrooms, enjoy old photos and see how far the school had come since it opened more than a century ago.
It was part of a week of events to mark the milestone, which also included a school open day, formal dinner and assembly.
While attendance figures had not been collected for the open day, principal Tony Gadd said the number of current and former staff, teachers and parents through the school gates on Sunday had been well above expectations.
“We have been overwhelmed by the response from the community,” he said. “We’ve got the anniversary book on back order.
“Some people came back to remember their childhood and their friends and some came back to catch up with former colleagues.
“It has been a very positive experience all around.”
Mr Gadd said he thought that the current cohorts’ high level of interest in the school’s history had been one of the highlights of the ongoing anniversary celebrations.
“The kids have been really interest and respectful of the fact that the school does have a long and successful history,” he said.
The celebrations kicked off last Tuesday, which was the date the first students enrolled in the school in 1890.
