The young Lyme disease sufferer from Raworth is in Europe receiving treatment for the illness.
She had to seek international help because the Australian government refuses to fund treatment for Lyme disease, with some doctors disputing its existence in this country.
The Mercury last reported that Tahlia had a major setback with her treatment, having to be flown to Belgrade for specialist care.
Her father Brett Smith gave an update on her condition on social media on Wednesday.
“After receiving test results back Tahlia was sent to see head haematologist and then sent for more tests,” he wrote.
“Tahlia has lost a significant amount of blood requiring two blood transfusions.
“The doctors and nurses have been great.
“Tahls has been doing it pretty tough lately but still soldiering on. We even managed to get a little laugh out of our girl this arvo.
“Tahlia said to say thank you to everyone who has messaged her and wished her well.”
