The Australian’s beat their own record by almost four seconds to record a time of 4:16.65.
Elliott swan the third leg of the final contributing to a seven second break for McConnell who was anchoring the relay against America’s 100m S9 paralympic champion Michelle Konkoly.
The Australian team featured two S9 and two S8 swimmers in the race in which teams must have a maximum of 34 points.
After the race which started 30 minutes after schedule, Elliott said it was truly amazing to claim the gold in the relay again in world record time.
“To compete with these four girls and we got another world record time it’s truly amazing,” she said.
Elliott won gold as a 13-year-old with the Australian relay team at the 2012 Paralympics.
Elliott has two finals on Saturday with the final of the 50m freestyle final at 7.03am and the 4x100m medley final at 9.43am.
Her final event will be the 200m individual medley.
