Bathurst Kangaroo Project’s Helen Bergen praised council’s initiative of herding the ’roos in behind fences and shutting the gate before Race Week.
Mayor Gary Rush said while one roo was spotted inside the fencing prior to races on Thursday, the fencing had been a successful strategy to keep roos off the track during the last three major events.
