It took 7500 litres of milk, five wheel barrow loads of spaghetti bolognese and 140 kilograms of sausages to help nourish 3000 hungry cub scouts and their leaders at last week’s Myths and Legends Cuboree.

Cub scouts from across the Hunter joined their peers from across the state at Appin for the five-day event, which gave them the chance to develop skills and make new friends.
The Beresfield group, led by Wynand Jordaan, enjoyed taking part in the obstacle course as well as turning their hand to cooking and a water slide. They also learnt about Aboriginal heritage.
“The activities build skills and it’s also about meeting new friends and learning to be independent,” he said.“It’s getting them outside instead of them sitting in front of the computer or the television or on the play station.”
