Here’s the top 10 things to do.
ANIMAL NURSERY:
There will be up to 70 animals to meet, pat and feed. There’ll be ducklings, piglets, ponies and donkeys as well as hens and roosters, an alpaca and baby lambs and goats.
WOODCHOP:
Almost 30 entrants will make their way through timber logs of various sizes within 30 to 50 seconds in front of crowds in the main arena. The action kicks off on Saturday.
COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS:
Twenty-minute demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday will be held in the Willard Pavilion. Learn how to turn fresh farm produce into delectable dishes with chef Amorelle Dempster and her guest cooks.
POULTRY SHOW:
Take a look through the chooks, roosters and ducks who are vying for a ribbon in the poultry competition. You’ll meet some interesting birds.
HOT ROD DISPLAY:
Take a walk down memory lane with a look at some fancy cars and the speedway display. It’s sure to be a good talking point.
DOG JUDGING:
Check out the canines strutting their stuff in the dog ring from 9am on Saturday. You’re guaranteed to see some pampered pooches as the Championship Dog Show unfolds.
PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION:
Ponder over captivating photographs from across the globe in the Maitland International Salon of Photography exhibition from Friday to Sunday in the Art and Craft Pavilion.
D-MAX DRIVING TEAM:
Watch some nail-biting action as four drivers showcase their skills in the main arena at 4.30pm and 7.10pm on Saturday.
OUTBACK STOCKMAN SHOW:
Lachie Cossor will show you some incredible tricks with his horses, dogs and Jigsaw his pet bull. Don’t try these at home kids!
Lachie and Jigsaw took a trip down Maitland mall to promote the show on Thursday.
FIREWORKS:
Take a seat in the refurbished grandstand and mark the end of your day with a fabulous fireworks display at 9pm.
