The 11-year-old decided to take part in the Leukaemia Foundations World’s Greatest Shave when she learned a family friend had been diagnosed with the disease.
Whitney could have chosen to have her hair dyed but decided to have her long-brown locks chopped off so that they could be used to make a wig for someone with leukaemia undergoing lifesaving treatment.
Her proud mum, family, friends and her schoolmates were on hand to see Whitney have her pony tail cut off and then have her head shaved.
The end result was a smashing new tightly-cropped style, courtesy of hairdresser Jade Hopkins, and almost $2000 to go to the Leukaemia Foundation for research
