The 90-86 win led by a game-high 27 points to Tyler Monroe and 25 points and six assists by Terrell Turner lifts the Mustangs to second on the ladder with three wins from their four games.
The Sydney Comets, the only team to have beaten the Mustangs this year, are unbeaten on top.
The Mustangs, who were tied at 74 at full-time, built there victory on another strong defensive effort. Monroe led the way with 15 rebounds for his fourth double-double in Maitland colours.
Jack Edwards chimed in with 13 rebounds to go with seven points and five assists.
Josh Clifford had his best game of the year scoring 13 and grabbing six rebounds.
The Mustangs Youth Men went down 89-71.
The Mustangs Women had a 63-46 win against Tamworth at Tamworth on Saturday.
