The Randalls were seemingly out of contention going into the sixth and final game but a big win against the previously undefeated pair of Haydyn Bojkowski and Damien Bailey got them back into contention with five wins.
Beresfield’s Warren Shipley and Mick Brown and Warilla’s Harley McDonald and Michael Stead also went into the final games undefeated but both had losses handing the title on shot difference to the Randalls.
Shipley and Brown went down by just one shot and finished second in the tournament. McDonald and Stead finished out of the top seven, with Bojkowski and Bailey fifth.
“To have three teams going into the last game undefeated and for them all to lose and another team grab the title was a sensational way to finish a great tournament.” Maitland City bowls director DJ Dilworth said.
