DIARY NOTES: WHAT’S ON
Maitland and Coalfields District Orchid Society will hold their annual winter show at Cessnock Market Place (near IGA supermarket) from Thursday June 29 to Saturday July 1. The show will be judged by a panel form the NSW Orchid Society. There will be a selection of plants for sale and experts on hand to offer advice.

THREE IN ONE
East Maitland branch of CWA will hold a 3-in-1 day on June 29 at 10.30am in their hall at 162 George Street, East Maitland. The cost is $18 and includes morning tea and a Nepalese inspired lunch. Hear speakers on Agriculture and Environment, Culture and Nepal, our country of study for the year. Bookings are essential. Call Val on 49641300 by June 20.
VIOLET SOCIETY
The Hunter African Violet Society will meet on June 25 at 2pm in the Cardiff Senior Citizens Centre, 52 Harrison St, Cardiff. Activities will include how to propagate chimeras and hoiw to grow a trailing African Violet. There will also be a mini show of the best plants and pottiong suopplies will be available for sale. DISNEY CONCERT
Maitland Musical Society will present its new Disney concert – Disney is a Wish Your Heart Makes –at Maitland City Sports, Bowls and Recreation Club on Saturday (7pm) and Sunday (2pm), July 8-9. Featuring 28 songs from some of Disney's most well loved animation films, there will be a six-piece band on hand to accompany the cast of 25.
