Star forward and captain Dane Tilse was a late withdrawal with hamstring soreness, but coach Trevor Ott said there was no excuse for the performance.
“The only positive to come out of the game today for us was the final siren to end it all,” a disappointed Ott said after the match.
“They were just too good for us in every position. We were no match for them.
“It’s a big step backwards for us. Now’s not the time to assess it but it wasn’t pretty.”
Ott said Wests were clearly the best side they had played this season.

“It’s West and then daylight as far as this competition goes. They are a mile ahead of the competition,” he said.
Apart from Tilse, who will be tested during the week, the one positive was that there were no other additions to the Pickers long injury list.
Meanwhile, Cessnock Goannas were 10-16 losers to South Newcastle at Townson Oval on Sunday.
The loss sees the Goannas drop to fifth on the ladder equal on points with the Lions.
