The 21-year-old driver had parked to complete the delivery in Lee Street about 9pm Saturday when he was approached by an unknown man.
The driver wound down his window believing the man had approached the car to pick up the pizza. The offender then held a knife up to the driver’s throat and demanded cash.
The driver pushed the man’s arm away and the armed offender ran from the scene empty-handed.
The driver was not seriously harmed in the incident.
Police were called and searched the area with the assistance of the dog squad, but could not find the offender.
The armed man was described as Caucasian, aged late teens to early 20s, long black hair, medium build and about 180cm tall. He was wearing a black hoodie, grey pants and white joggers.
Information should be reported to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
