The future of Maitland football was on display at Cooks Square Park on Sunday for the Maitland FC Community Cup.

Ten under-12 teams from across the district competed for the cup, which the Magpies plan to make an annual showcase of junior football talent.

Competing teams came from Maitland, Rutherford, Lochinvar, Raymond Terrace, Cessnock, Thornton and Greta Branxton. Maitland, Thornton and Lochinvar fielded two teams.
