SummerSalt is presented by Zaccaria Concerts & Touring. Home-grown and international artists will perform at some of Australia’s most picturesque locations and, a statement said, there will be “a very heavy emphasis on local community and sustainability”.
The first SummerSalt show is at Adelaide’s Glenelg Beach on November 18 and will be headlined by John Butler Trio and Missy Higgins.
The Cat Empire and Xavier Rudd will kickstart the SummerSalt series in NSW and Western Australia, performing at Hope Estate on November 25; Bondi Beach on November 26; 3 Oceans Winery in the Margaret River region on December 2 and at Perth’s Hotel Rottnest on December 3.
The Cat Empire are a successful mash-up of jazz, funk and world music and renowned for their live performances. Their 2016 album Rising With The Sun debuted at No.1 on the Australian charts and had a global debut of No.9 on the iTunes worldwide chart. Their last international tour saw them play to more than a quarter of a million people throughout Europe, North and South America, Australia and Asia.
Xavier Rudd’s ability to connect with people through music continues to be his most powerful gift. Hailed as one of Australia’s most proficient multi-instrumentalists, Rudd topped the charts in the Netherlands last year with his single Follow the Sun and achieved platinum sales in Italy.
Tickets are on sale at 10am on July 25 online at summersaltmusic.com.au.
More shows are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Each concert event will include a dedicated SummerSalt Lounge area; market stalls; food trucks and cultural activities. Many of the events are all-ages and family-friendly.
A “Green Ticket” can be purchased for an additional $3 and this will, promoters say, be invested into native reforestation projects across agricultural land to “help offset the emissions generated by the SummerSalt concert series”.
