Cronin was named in the team after his NSW Combined High Schools team beat NSW Combined Catholic Colleges 41-10 in the final of Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League titles last week.
It’s been a huge year for Cronin who played with the Parramatta Eels the SG Ball Cup winning team which went on to beat Queensland’s Western Mustangs in the national under-18 title.
Cronin will tour New Zealand with the Aussie Schoolboys later this year and will now set his sights on earning a place in the Eels under-20 National Youth League team.
The 18-year-old, who attends Hills Sports High School after moving to Parramatta at the start of the year, is contracted to Parramatta through to the end of Under-20s in 2019.
He said the club wanted him to concentrate on making the Australian Schoolboys team before getting a run in the Under-20 team.
“The coaching staff have been terrific in helping me with my game and setting goals,” he said.
