The Pooch Picnic is the perfect family day out with something for everyone including live music, jumping castle for the kids, pet pampering stalls and dog competitions.
Renowned dog trainer Kelly Gill and her team of talented border collies, the Wonderdogs, will perform their popular trick shows and training demonstrations.
There will be plenty of food, wine and coffee to tempt the tastebuds. Picnic hampers can be pre-booked through the cellar door.
Pepper Tree Wines marketing manager Michelle Preece said the Pooch Picnic was created six years ago as an extension of the Pepper Tree Pet Club and as a way of raising much needed funds for local not-for-profit animal rescue organisations.
“The team at Pepper Tree Wines know what an integral part a pet plays in their owner’s lives,” Ms Preece said.
“Our head winemaker Gwyn Olsen’s dog Spencer is a regular visitor at Pepper Tree Wines and is often seen wandering the grounds and greeting visitors at the cellar door.
“The Pooch Picnic is a way for us to celebrate all our four legged friends.”
Gold coin entry from the event will be donated to Dog Rescue Newcastle, a volunteer organisation committed to the rescue of abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals.
The Pooch Picnic will run from 10.30am to 2.30pm at 86 Halls Road, Pokolbin.
Dogs must be social and on a leash at all times. Bring your own rugs, chairs and dog tidy bags.
