The region’s temperatures are forecast to sit in the mid to high 20’s over the next week with a warm air mass moving across the State.
Meteorologist for the Bureau of Meteorology Ash Lange said the Hunter can expect some balmy days with temperatures well above average for the Hunter region particularly on Tuesday.
“The Hunter will experience warmer conditions with warm, north westerly winds pushing across NSW,” Ms Lange said.
“From Tuesday the Hunter Valley is looking at temperatures about five degrees above average.”
On Tuesday Maitland, Cessnock and Singleton are expected to reach 27 degrees, Newcastle 25 and Scone 26.
Ms Lange said rain is not forecast however the region, particularly the southern parts of the Hunter, may receive some light showers on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
So has Spring finally sprung?
“I wouldn’t like to comment on that at this stage, so don’t put away the electric blankets just yet,” Ms Lange said.
