The family was the only division one winner across Australia in Monday and Wednesday Lotto last week.
In addition to winning division one, the family’s marked System 8 entry also won division three 12 times and division four 15 times – bolstering their total winnings to $1,006,124.05.
While their entry was registered to a Players Club Card, NSW Lotteries officials were able to contact them to break the news.
But last night, the local dad checked the family’s entry after hearing there was a million-dollar win in the region.
“I’m shakin’ a bit! It’s been a long night!” the father exclaimed when a NSW Lotteries official confirmed his win.
“I saw something on Facebook about a win in Branxton but it wasn’t until last night that I saw it. Then I looked at the numbers and thought ‘oh shit! It can’t be’.
“I’m just trying to keep myself composed. I’ve got tears of joy.”
The happy and emotional winner explained his family had worked hard all their lives and had rarely had the opportunity to treat themselves.
“It’ll just make life a lot easier,” he said.
“We’ve never had a real holiday. Now it's time. Maybe a trip around Australia.”

The winning entry was purchased at Branxton Newsagency, 43 Maitland Street, Branxton.
Branxton Newsagency owner David Smith said he was thrilled the winner had been found and would soon be united with their prize.
“The win has been the talk of the town!” he declared.
“It’s very nice to have win in the region – it gives people some good news!
“Congratulations to our customer! We wish them all the very best with their win.”
Last financial year, there were 82 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $80 million.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 375 so far this calendar year.
