Norths declared on their day one score of 5/237, which had been set up by a maiden first grade century by Will Fort and an explosive 68 off 32 balls by Lincoln Mills, taking a lead of 156 runs into day two at East Maitland Park.
Mills and Rex Greaves opened the bowling for Norths as they chased the outright and Greaves claimed the initial breakthroughs.
“He was bowling with real pace and had them on the back foot,” Mills said of his young opening bowling partner.
“All the bowlers did a terrific job and we were really backed up well in the field.
“Easts have a quality line-up and to bowl them out is a tremendous effort.
“Given our poor start to the season, the outright win is a real bonus and gets us up into the top two.”
Jack Bennett led the way for Easts with the bat scoring 50 before edging a catch down the legside.
“Norths started a bit slow, but you can expect that bringing four 16-year-olds into the team,” Bennett said.
“But they’ve come good very quick. The young blokes really work hard in the field. You have to work hard for every run.”
In the other matches Western Suburbs defeated City United and Raymond Terrace, led by an outstanding 9-19 by leg-spinner Aaron Bills, dismissed Kurri Weston for 90 to record an 87-run win and remain the only undefeated team.
