Bills had the Kurri Weston batting line-up in a spin grabbing 5-3 on day one and following it up with four wickets on day two as the Lions recorded their third win of the season to remain unbeaten.
However, Western Suburbs co-skipper Mitch Fisher is looking forward to challenge against Bills, who moved back to Terrace after playing with Northern District in Sydney first grade.
“We’re looking forward to the challenge. Aaron Bills looks like he is in great form with the ball – 9-19 is an incredible effort.
“We have a solid batting order and players who can take on spin right through our batting order.
“Aaron Mahony’s in the type of form that he could turn the game himself.
“We’re starting to bowl well as a combination as well, so Terrace aren’t the only team with bowling option.
“It should be a really good game and hopefully we can get the win and take us into the Christmas break with three wins on the board.”
Raymond Terrace all-rounder Nick Savage rates the Plovers batting line-up highly.
“We’re on track to remain unbeaten going into Christmas which would be a great effort, but Western Suburbs is a huge challenge for us.
“I rate their batting line-up as the best in the competition. Any team with Aaron Mahony in the batting line-up is going to be a real threat.”
The final round before the Christmas break offers some other intriguing battles with Northern Suburbs playing City United and Eastern Suburbs hosting Thornton.
Norths share top spot with Raymond Terrace courtesy of the 10 points for their outright win against Easts last round.
They will be without star teenage batsman Will Fort, who is playing at the Australian under-19 cricket championships with the Australian under-17 team, but have plenty of quality batting headed by all-rounder Lincoln Mills.
Mills put Norths in a commanding position against Easts with a stylish 68 off just 32 balls.
Easts will be aiming to return to winning form but will need to be at their best against Thornton.
