Retirement no longer means slowing down, many seniors are now using their time to increase fitness, improve mobility, strength and wellbeing and stay socially connected.
integratedliving Australia offers a range of services to support people to live independently at home and has an award winning team of professionals that can provide social support, domestic help, personal care, respite support for carers, as well as a suite of Wellness programs designed to engage in education, early intervention, strength and capacity building.
They have recently launched state of the art Wellness gyms in Newcastle, Muswellbrook and Raymond Terrace, led by an Exercise Physiologist, providing an opportunity for customers to improve their mobility and strength either individually or in a group. integratedliving Australia’s Allied Health Team can also provide vital support with Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Podiatry and Exercise Physiology.
Loralee Lukes, National Program Manager for integratedliving Australia said,
“Our exercise physiologist first discusses what a customer wants to achieve, whether it’s regaining strength, increasing mobility or improving overall fitness,”
“Our gyms offer state of the art HUR equipment, designed to calibrate to the individual, what that means is that when someone returns to use the equipment after first using it, it will re-adjust itself back to suit that person and their specific program.” Said Loralee
“We’ve had a number of people using the gyms already and they really enjoy the fact that everything is designed for this age group.”
The gyms are part of a wider focus on wellness which includes a range of programs under the Wellness for Independence banner; encompassing courses focused on memory wellness, digital wellness, low vision wellness, foot wellness and diabetes wellness. These activities provide customers with information and ongoing learning on an iPad as well as regular group interaction.
As more people engage with the programs, integratedliving will measure the impact on customers and continue to develop features to enable clients to embrace an active and socially connected life.integratedliving Australia offers services as part of Government funded Home Care Packages, the Commonwealth Home Support Program and Short Term Restorative Care support.Visit www.integratedliving.org.au or call 1300 782 896.
