The new back-to-retro Gloria Jean’s is all about returning to what Gloria Jean’s is ace at, making the good cup, everytime.
“Gloria Jean’s, around since 1979 is as old school as they come,” Gloria Jean’s general manager Damien Zivkovich said.
“A lot of brands like to say they’re old school with five to 10 years in the game, but 40 years in coffee means we know all about specialty milk-based espresso, and now we’re applying the same passionate approach to filtered coffee and cold brew.
“If you’re a coffee lover, we’ve got you.”
There’s still a lot of love for the Gloria Jean’s brand nationally, Damien said.
Gloria Jean’s currently serve 35 million cups of coffee per annum in Australia.
The big secret in the industry is that Gloria Jean’s buys coffee from the same farms/origin as the best independent cafes.
“We’ve just tweaked our roasting process slightly and we’re now making coffee on par with the best cafes in Sydney and Melbourne, evidenced by our recent Gold and Silver medals at the Golden Bean Awards,” Damien said.
Gloria Jean’s will take care of your hunger, too, with a brand new canteen-style café menu, including Jean’s Grilled Cheese sandos, milk bun burgers, fresh salads, house-made muffins, and a pastry cabinet perfect for afternoons. And yes they’re still serving your favourite chillers and shakes.
“You might notice we changed our logo, and if it looks familiar it’s because the new logo draws from the original 1979 logo,” Damien said.
Maitland locals Bronwen and Adam Richmond are the owner-operators of the new Stockland Greenhills Gloria Jean’s.
Young, funky and with a background in small business, the couple are excited about being part of the rebranding process.
“Gloria Jean’s, more than anything is a local business, owned by locals and providing fantastic training for locals,” Damien said. “We’re keen to bring specialty coffee and good old-fashioned service to Maitland.
“Stocklands Green Hills is a wonderfully modern shopping mall and we feel it’s the right locale for our new Gloria Jean’s brand. Forty years in the game perfecting specialty coffee sets Gloria Jean’s apart, and we’re more than just a good cup of coffee, we’re a community hub
“We’re passionate about being involved in local communities across Australia.”
Gloria Jean’s is located on the ground floor at Stockland Green Hills, opposite H&M.
