Maitland City Council will release its draft delivery program 2018-2021 at its meeting on Tuesday night.
The development of a delivery program is one of the primary tasks for a new council to undertake following its election. The draft program identifies the outcomes council will achieve over its term to support the delivery of Maitland +10, our community’s vision for the future of the city. The program recognises the growth expected for Maitland and budgets an injection of $469.8 million into services, activities and projects over the three year period.
The draft 2018/19 Operational Plan will also be discussed. This details actions that will be taken during the first financial year of the delivery program.
Over the next financial year council’s draft operating budget will be $144 million. Key aspects of this include the management of an asset portfolio of $979 million, the delivery of a capital works budget of $29.9 million, the management of $118 million in investments and the employment of up to 448 (full and part time) employees.
The draft Delivery Program 2018-2021 will see the completion of the $5.5 million Maitland Regional Athletics Centre, construction of a multipurpose community centre at Gillieston Heights, youth facilities including a new skate park at East Maitland, development of a new waste transfer facility at Mount Vincent and planning for a new council administration building.
