Construction on the building, the second component of The Levee development, began in 2016 and was funded with $9.92 million from the NSW Liberal National Government’s Resources for Regions program.
The opening of this stage highlights the revitalisation of High Street through the creation of The Levee, road and footpath works between Church and Elgin streets, Bourke Street and Pre-School Lane, works on a portion of the Riverside Walk and the creation of a connection to the river through the completion of the Riverlink Building.
The Resources for Regions Program supports improvements to local infrastructure they need to grow their economies including road and rail infrastructure, water and sewerage systems and social and civic assets.
