With grey skies overhead, the masses turned out for the East Maitland Anzac Day march and service.
With the elderly, school children and everyone in between in attendance, a huge crowd huddled around the East Maitland war memorial, where a thorough commemorative service was conducted at 11.30am.
Earlier, the march headed off from East Maitland War Memorial Centre, led by a police escort.
Among the veterans and service men and women making the march down the New England Highway were throngs of children, representing numerous schools from around the area.
A thick crowd lined the highway all the way to the war memorial, with all eager to pay their respects to those who gave everything.
